DeAndrea Homeschool Testing
Test Information
CTBS TerraNova Test, Third Edition
The TerraNova Test is published by McGraw Hill and is one of the Oregon State approved tests that homeschooled students must take when finishing grades 3, 5, 8, and 10. The test consists of an overview of reading, math, and language. It goes over word analysis, vocabulary, language mechanics, reading comprehension, math computation, and math story problems. All sections of the test are multiple choice and timed. It takes approximately two and a half hours to complete, and students need to score a combined total above the 15th percentile to pass.
If you have a high school student wanting to participate in public high school athletics or other competitive subjects governed by the OSAA such as Choir, Band, or Forensics, they need to test every year and score a combined total above the 23rd percentile.
I will send out links for PRACTICE TESTS after students are registered.
Oregon State Testing Requirements
The State of Oregon requires that the total battery score report (Language Arts and Math total) be turned in to your local ESD no later than August 15 of each year, if requested.
Upon testing with me, you will receive your child's report in approximately three weeks. The report goes directly to you as a parent, and it is up to you to make a copy and turn it into the ESD. Questions about this may be directed to your local ESD.
